Colossians 2:16-23

1. A Warning Against the Lie of                                                            (16-17)

THE LIE: You are not good enough because Jesus’ sacrifice was not sufficient enough.

THE TRUTH: If you are saved, Jesus’ work on the Cross paid for everything you did.

1. A Warning Against the Lie of                                                          (18-19)

THE LIE: There are secret spiritual experiences outside of Christ that will quench your spiritual thirst.

THE TRUTH: If you are saved, you already have everything you need for an abundant Christian life.

1. A Warning Against the Lie of                                                       (20-23)

THE LIE: That severe self-mortification will make you more spiritual.

THE TRUTH: If you are saved, you have been set free from condemnation!

In Conclusion:

Galatians 5:13–14 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
